This story was crafted as a part of my Fall 2019 Ithaca College course in narrative journalism. It later received the 2019-2020 Park School Student Writing Award. In October 2019, I covered the trial of seven radical Catholic peace activists on charges related to their break-in at the United States Naval Facility Kings Bay where several nuclear submarines are based.
